The Castle Rock Writer’s Conference a Big Success
The Douglas County Libraries first annual Author Extravaganza was a resounding success. One of its premiere events, the Castle Rock Writers Conference, took place at the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock on September 20 and featured keynote speakers Margaret Coel and Jim Sheeler. 150 writers attended workshops presented by local authors had an opportunity to pitch to agents.
Douglas County Libraries would like to thank the sponsors of the 2008 Author Extravaganza: The Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado, Colorado Community Newspapers, Tattered Cover Book Store, The Wildlife Experience, Frederic Printing, IREA, Pure Water, Mark Weston and Laurie L. Kornek. The signature event, which highlights writers and their craft, included the Castle Rock Writers Conference, and An Evening with Dave Barry.
