Purpose: SMARTS! Vision will create a World Class Cultural @Arts Center and Cultural District to meet the needs of the South Metro Denver Area Communities. As a model, think of the Arvada Center or the Walnut Creek Center in California. Imagine such a successful center built today, in our community, at a size and with features designed specifically for the anticipated growth of our area. SMARTS! Center & Cultural District must meet the needs of local arts & cultural organizations, concerts, national and regional touring shows, musicals, dance, theatre and visual arts. Actual design must await a professionally conducted feasibility study, including programming needs the community will support. Several Community Centers will be needed to comprise a Cultural District. Collaboration of South Metro Communities & Arts Organizations can make the vision a reality. Volunteer opportunities: Survey Youth Cultural & Arts needs. Plan a competition for youth musical groups or artists, Write SMARTS! publicity for school publications, plan and make presentation to Arts Councils about youth cultural and arts needs.
