 <title>Donation Brings Renovation to Parker Library</title>

&lt;p&gt;When Parker Library opened in 1996, it served fewer than 20,000 people.  It now serves a population of about 84,000. With this construction, the library will expand its children&#039;s area and update the entry area adding more room to the crowded facility.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Douglas County Libraries Director, Jamie LaRue, says “If you&#039;ve tried to get into the parking lot lately, you know that it just isn&#039;t big enough. But after two failed elections to address the issue, Douglas County Libraries doesn&#039;t have the money to build or rent a larger building. What&#039;s a service-minded library district to do? Answer: re-imagine the space. Thanks to a private donation, we&#039;ll be able to do a make-over at almost half the price.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Construction could last through early 2010 and brings several changes to services and programs:&lt;/p&gt;
